In 1984, the unmarked gravesite was identified by a granddaughter, Mrs. Capitola Abbett Blackwelder. The marker was placed by a great-granddaughter, Sandra S. Wilson, with the assistance of Mr. C. Arthur Harris of Alexander City, Alabama. Additional Comments: John Ezekial "Zeke" Abbott/Abbett died July 17, 1895, at Sessions, near the Eagle Creek community, Dadeville, Alabama.
