RAY AND ROSEY ELIZABETH RAY 1855 Transcribed by Beverly Giles Loffler Beverly@jloffler.com 30 Apr 2008 Chancery Court Book 1855-1861 Pages 71, 79, and 80 Page 71 November Term 1855 Ransom Ray, Jr. Vs Rosey Elizabeth Ray Case 211 Submitted for Decree and complainant offered the following proofs to wit-A Certified copy of Marriage License. Also the Testimony of Sarah Ray, John Ray, Robert Adair, Elizabeth Adair and William B. Ray. Page 79 and 80 Ransom Ray Jr. Vs Rosey Elizabeth Ray Case 211 This case coming on to be heard upon the pleadings and proofs the Cross Bill by the defendant against the complainant being withdrawn and the Court having duly considered said pleadings and proofs, It is thereupon ordered adjudged and decreed that the marriage between the complainant and defendant be and the same is hereby dissolved and that the complainant be and he is hereby freed from the obligations thereof and allowed to marry again but that the defendant is not allowed to marry again until the complainant by actually dead. And it is further ordered that the complainant pay the costs of this suit to be taxed by the register for which execution may (can’t read). And it is further ordered that the register of this Court proceed without delay to take an amount of the estate of the complainant and ascertain whether the Defendant has any separate estate and if so in what it consist taking into consideration its value and the value of the separate estate id any the defendant and the health ages and condition of the parties and the fact that the defendant has been ascertained to have been guilty of adultery and also taking into consideration the number of children and other dependants upon the parties their ages situation and circumstances and report in the (can’t read) to the next term of this Court.
