MARRIAGE OF GEORGE M. RAY TO MARTHA COUCH 1851

The State of Alabama
Tallapoosa County
To any ordained or licensed minister of the Gospel, Judge of the Circuit or 
Probate Courts or Justice of the Peace in and for said County;  Greeting You 
are hereby authorized to celebrate the rites of Matrimony between George M. Ray 
and Martha Couch and this shall be your sufficient authority for so doing.  
Given under my hand and Seal on this the 17th day of May 1851 and of American 
Independence 75th year.

The above named Parties were married by me on the 18th day of July 1851.

GENEALOGY NOTES
In other documents George’s middle initial is ‘W’.  It is also likely that 
Martha’s last name is ‘Crouch’.  See deeds posted on USGenWeb, Tallapoosa Co.,
