MARRIAGE OF WILLIAM RAY TO SUSAN CROUCH 1845

The State of Alabama
Tallapoosa County
Know all men by these presents that we William Ray and Silas Ray are held and 
firmly bound unto his Excellency Benj. Fitzpatrick, Governor of said State and 
his successors in office in the penal sum of Two hundred Dollars for payment of 
which will and truly to be made we bind ourselves and each and every of our 
heirs executors or administrators Jointly and Severally firmly by these 
presents.  Sealed with our seals and dated the F13th day of March A. D. 1845.
The Condition of this obligation is Such that if there be no lawful cause why 
William Ray and Susan Crouch should not be joined together in the holy union of 
Matrimony then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force 
and virtue.

To any ordained Minister of the Gospel: Judge of the County or Circuit Court or 
Justice of the Peace in and for said County, Greeting
You are hereby authorized to Celebrate the Rites of Matrimony between William 
Ray and Susan Crouch and this shall be your sufficient authority for so doing.  
Given under my hand and Seal this the 13th day of March A. D. one thousand 
eight hundred and forty five and of American Independence the Sixty ninth year.

Susannah Crouch on the 13th day of March A. D. 1845.
