THE STATE OF ALABAMA, - TALLAPOOSA COUNTY.
To any Ordained or Licensed Minister of the Gosepl, Judge of the Circuit or 
Probate Courts or Justice of the Peace, for said County --- Greeting:

YOU are hereby authorized to celebrate the RITES OF MATRIMONY, between John W. 
Adams and Nancy J. Howell and this shall be your sufficient authority for so 
doing. 

Given under my hand and seal this 8 day of September A. D. 1865.

The above named parties were married by me on the 10 day of September A. D. 
1865.

THE STATE OF ALABAMA, TALLAPOOSA COUNTY.

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS THAT WE:  John W. Adams and James H. Beard are 
held and firmly bound unto the State of Alabama, in the penal sum of Two 
Hundred Dollars, for which payment well and truly to be made and done, we bind 
ourselves, our and each of our heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, 
jointly and severally and firmly, by these presents, sealed with our seals and 
dated this 8 day of September A. D. 1865.

THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE OBLIGATION IS SUCH, That if there be no lawful 
cause why John W. Adams and Nancy J. Howell should not be joined together in 
the holy union of matrimony, then this obligation to be void, otherwise to 
remain infull force and effect.
