Tallapoosa County Marriage Books

       FIFTY-DOLLARS FINE FOR FAILING TO RETURN THESE LICENSE WITHIN ONE MONTH

The State of Alabama
TALLAPOOSE COUNTY
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we:  Thomas R Berry and James M Berry
are held and firmly bound unto the State of Alabama, in the penal sum of Two 
Hundred Dollars for which payment well and truly to be made and done, we bind 
ourselves, our and each of our heirs, administrators, and assigns, jointly 
severally and firmly, by these presents, seald with our seals and dated this 
24th day of April A.D. 1865

THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE OBLIGATION IS SUCH, that, if there be no lawful 
cause why Thomas R. Berry and Mary Hughes should not be joined together in the 
holy union of matrimony, then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain 
in full force and effect.

THE STATE OF ALABAMA, - TALLAPOOSA COUNTY, 
To any ordnained or Licensed Minister of the Gospel, Judge of the Circuit or 
Porbate Courts or Justice of the Peace, for said County---Greeting:

You are hereby authorized to celebrate the RITES OF MATRIMONY, between Thomas 
R. Berry and Mary F. Hughes and this shall be your sufficient authority for so 
doing.

Given under my hand and seal this 24th day of April, A. D. 1865

The above named parties were married by me on the 24th day of April, A. D. 1865
