The Prewitt Plantation is no longer standing and there are some 400+ graves that are buried, broken and worn. There are dozens of markers without any names. These graves are said to belong to the Prewitt family, their extended relatives, workers of the plantation and their family members, and the slaves they owned on this plantation. Surname spellings vary, perhaps due to illiteracy.
