Cockranes says that J.B. Beams, who being duly sworn, deposeth and saith that when a Private in Company G of 38the Regiment of Tenn and while in discharge of his duty on the 27th day of August 1862 at Chicamanga in the State of Tennessee he was struck on the right hip with a piece of shell paralyzing his right leg, which is now perished away and is of no use to him and in consequence of which loss of limb wound or wounds he has been rendered physically incapable of making a livelihood by labor; that he was a resident of Alabama on the 13th day of February 1891 and is a resident at the date of this application; that he is engaged in the business of farming that his salary and Gross Income does not amount to four hundred dollars per year.
