She died in September of 1956. "Simpson Last Rites Scheduled Monday" Funeral services for Mrs. Marcella Swindle Simpson, 84, who died Saturday afternoon at Druid City Hospital, will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at Jones-Spigener Chapel with Rev. John Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Mrs. Simpson was a life-long resident of Tuscaloosa. She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Fred B. Hughes of Tuscaloosa, Mrs. Bob Mays and Mrs. A. F. Speed of Birmingham, Mrs. W. A. Sullivan of Denver, Colo., Mrs. E. T. Chandler of Durham, N.C., and Mrs. L. J. O'Quinn of Tuscaloosa; four sons, Earl Simpson and W. A. Simpson, both of Tuscaloosa, J. B. Simpson, Durham, N.C., and Roy L. Simpson, Midland, Tex; three sisters, Mrs. Zora Turner; Mrs. Irene Collins and Miss Sally Simpson, all of Northport; three brothers, Charles Swindle, Samantha, T. A. Swindle, Coker, and George W. Swindle, Tuscaloosa; 38 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
