The Mountain Eagle newspaper 10/20/1897

Mr. D. J. FILES died at his home in this city yesterday morning, October 19, 
1897,  at 1:30. His remains laid to rest yesterday afternoon at Samaria Church 
by his wife who preceded him by about a year and a half. He leaves a son-in-law 
and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. MOORE, 3 brothers and we believe 3 
sisters.
