File Manager - Lygia D. Cutts AUG 1999 Vaughn Cemetery Wilcox County, AL Located in the NWNE of section 22 T11N R4E. One grave, that of William Kossoath Vaughn. He died on September 14, 1868 at the age of 15 years, 2 months, & 21 days. This would have made him been born in July of 1853. His father, William M. Vaughn had received a patent for this forty acres on January 1, 1852, three years before his son's birth. William M. Vaughn had also received patents (purchased the land from the government) for the SWNW of section 22 on February 1, 1860, and for the W1/2SE1/4 (80 acres) of section 15 and the NESE of section 15, on January 1, 1852. This was 200 acres that William M. purchased on the very West Side of Wilcox County, AL Prior to moving there he had purchased the S1/2SW1/4 of section 21, T11N R8E, 80 acres, in the east part of Wilcox County, AL on October 15, 1835.
