Farish, Eliza Jane Farish, John Thomas Farish and Sarah Elizabeth Farish; children of my deceased daughter Martha J. Farish and for the further consideration of the sum of one dollar to me in hand paid by Edward Farish the Father of the above named grand children; have given, granted, conveyed and delivered unto the said Robert Israel Farish, Eliza Jane Farish, John Thomas Farish and Sarah Elizabeth Farish the following negros to wit: Lucy a woman about forty two years of age; and Fanny a girl, about nine years old of age. The above named negros, I give to these my said grand children, to be held in trust, and managed by their father Edward S. Farish, who is to keep the woman Lucy six years free of hire and after that to hire her out for the benefit of the children and the girl Fanny he is to keep free of hire. On a division of these negros with their future increase, among the said grand children, I wish the negros sold and equally divided among them, and I leave it to the discretion of their father trustee as above stated to determine and so act, whether it would be to the interest of the children to sell the negros when the oldest one to wit Robert Israel, becomes of age say twenty one years, or when the youngest, to wit Sarah Elizabeth arrives at the age of twenty one years. And if he, the said Edward S. Farish, Trustee as afore said, shall deem it best, for the interest of the children to sell when Robert becomes of age, or when Sarah Elizabeth arrives at twenty one, he is to act in either case as he may in his judgement and discretion think best. I further more give to these my said grand children, of my Estate, not including my negros; which may arise from the sale of my land and other property, which I wish sold, then after paying my debts, and setting apart - one hundred dollars, and one feather bed, furniture and bed stead, which is to be reserved from sale, which I give to my grand daughter Sarah Elizabeth Farish, over and above what I give to the others, then these my said grand children to draw one share, say one fourth, of the remainder that may exist after paying my debts and selling off this last gift to my said grand daughter, Sarah Elizabeth, as above stated, and which gift is not stated in deeds which I have this day made to James Thomas Davis; A.J. Davis; and Sarah Ann Andress and which was designed but was omitted. It is my wish and desire, that Edward S. Farish manage, and settle up the business of my Estate.
