Davis, and for the further consideration of the sum of one dollar to me in hand paid by the said James T. Davis, have given, granted, and delivered, and by these presents, do freely, fully and unreservedly give, grant, deliver, and convey; unto the said James T. Davis, during his natural life, and at his death, to his children; a certain negro boy named Toney, about fifteen or sixteen years of age; together with an equal share with the rest of my children, of what money may be left after paying my debts arising from the sale of my land, and other effects of my Estate, all of which I wish sold, except my negros, and my debts paid there from; and the balance equally divided among all my children and the children of my deceased daughter Martha J. Farish. The above named negro boy Toney, and that portion of money that may be coming to the said James T. Davis out of my Estate I design for him his life time, and at his death to go to his children, and I thus direct it in this my deed of gift to him. Cooke, Judge of Probate Court for the County and State afore said, hereby certify that Wm M. Blackmon, a subscribing witness to the foregoing conveyance, known to me, appeared before me this day, and being sworn, stated that Jane Davis the grantor in the conveyance voluntarily executed the same in his presence, and in the presence of the other subscribing witnesses, on the day the same bears date; that he attested the same in the presence of the grantor and of the other witnesses, and that such other witnesses subscribed their names as witnesses in his presence.
