Mr. Sherwood Bonner who was operated on for Appendicitis by Dr. Hill in Montgomery, died at that place Saturday noon, May 2nd at 2 o'clock, and was buried at Oak Hill, Wilcox County at 12 o'clock Sunday, in the family burying ground. Mr. Bonner was former editor and owner of this paper, and afterward bought the Gordon Dubose Bank in this town, where he was doing a good business when taken sick, not yet in the prime of life, possessing means, and ability to operate on, domestic surroundings all that heart could wish, makes his sudden taking off doubly sad, the future held much promise for him, and the rough places in life's path had been smoothed out to tempt him on to a long and useful life, but alas, an invisible hand reaches out, and snaps the cord that binds him to earth, and he is carried into the Great Beyond. His entire family has our deep and honest sympathy, but time alone can bring to them comfort and contentment in this affliction that has befallen them.
