On Tuesday afternoon, May 15th, 1906, the spirit of Mrs. Josephine Staffens Boltz, ascended to her eternal home, and reposes with the just and good. Mrs. Boltz was a native of Germany, and was born Dec. 12th, 1829. In 1856, she was happily united in marriage to the late Mr. Henry Boltz of Camden. She came here as a bride, and had resided here since. At her death she was in her 77th year. Her surviving children, are Miss Rosa Boltz, Mrs. R. L. Hawthorne, and Messrs. Geo. C. Boltz and Ephraim P. Boltz. Another daughter, Mary, died some years ago, the wife of Mr. Jacob Ruppenthal. Mrs. Boltz was buried in the Camden Cemetery, along side of her husband. Mrs. Boltz had reached a good old age, but her life had been so good, so charitable, so honorable, that everyone felt her death was a loss to the community. She was a devoted wife, a fond mother and grand mother, and a faithful friend to the poor and the needy. Her hand and aid was never withheld from the sick and suffering; her life was that of a good Christian woman, who exemplified in her daily life, her precepts and examples, and the sweet fragrance of a worthy life, well spent, should be an inspiration and consolation, to those whom she preceeded to the Eternal Rest. Peace to her remains. Additional Comments: Microfilm newspaper (Wilcox Progressive Era) located at the Alabama Department of Archives and History, Montgomery, Alabama.
