Wilcox Progressive Era, Thursday, May 24, 1906
Mr. J. D. Bryant, Sr.
  We regret to record the death of Mr. J. D. Bryant, Sr., of Canton 
Bend, which event occurred at his home on the 18th day of May, 1906. Mr. 
Bryant made farming his life work, and has been successful in his 
agricultural efforts, having accumulated a fine property, and reached a 
ripe old age before the summons came. A wife, one son, and several 
grand sons survive him. During his long life in Wilcox, he made many 
warm friends, who will fondly cherish his memory as the years come and 
go.
