Wilcox Progressive Era, Thursday, July 16, 1903

Another link of this earthly chain is broken. Another soul has entered 
Heaven. Just as the sun was sinking from sight on June the 9th, 1903, 
we laid to rest dear Aline, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. M. 
Cumming. She united with the Presbyterian Church of Evergreen, Ala., 
several years ago and her beautiful Christian life has been a blessing 
to all of us. As we gathered around her bed she gave each of us a 
farewell smile and passed through the valley of the shadow of death 
without fear of evil for the Lord was with her.      M. A. M.
