Cook Dead. Mr. Enoch H. Cook died at his home in Canton Bend, last Monday morning aged 68 years. Mr. Cook had been unwell for some time, but it was hoped he was recovering. Death came suddenly. The deceased was a good, substantial citizen, who devoted his time to his farm and home life. In early life he married Miss Elizabeth Vickers, of this county and the bereaved widow and the following children survive him: Geo. A. Cook who resides in San Antonio, Texas, J. S. Cook, a resident of Columbus, Miss., a daughter, Miss Rosa who married in Texas, Mrs. James Campbell of Lower Peach Tree, Mrs. A. D. Campbell of Camden, also Henry and Leston Cook. Judge J. T. Cook of Montgomery, is a brother who survives. The deceased was born in Clifton, and was the son of Capt. E. H. Cook who has been dead for some years. He was a quiet, unobtrusive citizen, a good Confederate soldier, and was in the 38 Alabama Regiment during the civil war, he was a true Democrat, a very zealous and devoted Mason and a consistent member of the Methodist Church. The interment was at the Canton Bend Cemetery and the church services were conducted by Rev. J. P. Sanders, while the Masonic funeral services were rendered by Dale Lodge, No. 25, Dr. J. C. Benson, W. M., officiating. To the bereaved family our sympathies are tendered in their sorrow.
