HALL OF DALE LODGE, NO. 25 } CAMDEN, ALA., April 10, 1908 } Thomas Sumter Caldwell, a past master of our Lodge, died at his home at Camden, April 3, 1908, aged 64 years, and his remains were interred that afternoon with masonic honors, in the town in which he was born, reared and lived. Though he had not passed into the sere and yellow leaf, yet we miss his genial presence, and useful personality. Our brother had by cultivated training, given to a mind naturally elastic and active, much study, so that he was recognized on many matters, as authority on information. Fond of the social and refined pleasures of life, he neglected none of its cares and duties. He bowed in humble adoration before the Grand Master of the Universe, and endeavored to square his every action by the Golden Rule. A consistent Mason and devoted husband and father, a gentleman true to the relations of life, and a citizen watchful of the public interests; a brave soldier of the South when he was but a mere youth, he was gentle to those he loved, and kind to those in need of his assistance. He was true to Free Masonry; he was a faithful chapter Mason; and from the beginning to his death, he was the trustworthy secretary and treasurer of our Wilcox County Masonic Association. Therefore be it - Resolved, That in the death of Brother, T. S. Caldwell, Dale Lodge No. 25 has been deprived of the counsel, and co-operation of one whose interest in the work of Masonry, rendered him a worthy and accepted brother, and his family, a protector and help, who truly discharged his duties. Resolved, that we extend to his immediate family, the sorrowful sympathies of this Lodge, and invoke God's blessings for them, in this sad hour. Resolved, that a blank page in our book of minutes, be suitably inscribed to his family, and these resolutions be published in the county papers. S. D. BLOCH, J. S. HUNTER, D. B. JONES, Committee.
