The father of Mrs. Dodge, Prof. J. C. Andrews was for a long time connected with the Institute of this county in the capacity of music teacher. He was a man highly respected for his many intrinsic qualities, and his skill as a performer on many musical instruments. Messrs. Willard Andrews, Henry Andrews and C. S. Andrews, brother of the deceased are still living in this State honored and respected citizens. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Jane A. Andrews, daughter of Professor John C. Andrews, formerly of Mrs. Willard's Seminary, N. Y., who married Richard J. Dodge, formerly of 58 Clark Street, died suddenly last night at 280 Henry Street. She was in her eightieth year. She was born in Montreal, Canada, in 1824, but went to Bennington, Vt., at an early age. She lived in Brooklyn nearly sixty years. In her time she was a noted singer and vocal teacher, and at one time, sang in the First Presbyterian Church. She was of a sterling Christian character, lovable and had many friends. The funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at 280 Henry Street. The Rev. Dr. L. M. Clarke will officiate. - Brooklyn, N. Y. Daily Eagle of May 14, 1903.
