Neely Dale The friends and relatives of this worthy young man will be pained to learn of his death on last Sabbath evening, January 24th, 1904, at his home in Carrollton in Pickens County, Ala. He has been in ill and declining health for more than a year. He made a long and brave fight for longer days, but for some time it has been evident to those about him that his life would be short. He was a young man of force of character, of great energy and large ambitions. His life too was full of hope and promise. He was reared at Oak Hill in this county, son of Mr. Calvin S. and Janie Miller Dale. He was born on Sept. 8th, 1877. He received his education at Erskine College, S.C., and was a student all his life. He gave himself to the profession of journalism and it suited his taste and talent. He was a graceful writer and aimed at a high mark in his profession. At Carrollton he bought out and consolidated all the newspapers of the county and was making a business success. He was married to Miss Eula Jennings of Pickens County, and leaves her and one child to mourn with large circle of relatives and friends his sad and untimely death. He was a consistent and working member of the A. R. P. Church. We extend our fraternal sympathy to the bereaved.
