It is with sadness that we chronicle the death of Mrs. Eula Jennings Dale which sad event occurred on Saturday morning, December 23rd, at 3 o'clock. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. F. Jennings and throughout her life was a resident of this place. While she had been ill for some time, having suffered a relapse some months ago from measles, her death came as a great shock to her family and friends who were not conscious of her desperate condition until a few hours before her death. The interment occurred at 10 o'clock Sunday morning services being conducted by Rev. S. N. Burns, pastor of the Methodist Church, and Rev. E. P. Smith, pastor of the Baptist Church. The death of Mrs. Dale takes from our midst one who was generally loved and respected. In early life she joined the Methodist Church but, after her marriage to Mr. W. N. Dale several years ago, she joined the Presbyterian Church, that of his choice. After her husband's death she took active charge of The West Alabamian and only released control a few days before her death. Throughout her life she was a devout Christian and when sickness and suffering came to her she was submissive to God's will, ready when the summons came, and bade her loved ones meet her in Heaven. She leaves one child, a little daughter, still too young to realize the great loss of a mother's love, and to her and to the grief stricken parents and brothers and sisters we extend the deepest sympathy. - The Alabamian-Herald Additional Comments: Microfilm newspaper (Wilcox Progressive Era) located at the Alabama Department of Archives and History, Montgomery, Alabama.
