DeVan. Mrs. Mary A. DeVan, formerly of Arlington, Ala., but a resident of Mobile for about nine or ten years past, died yesterday at 5:30 o'clock at the home of her sister, Mrs. Leila Dumas, No. 1008 Spring Hill Avenue, after an illness of about ten days. She was in the 84th year of her age and last Thursday a week ago missed her footing and fell, breaking her hip, from the effects of which she never rallied. She is also survived by another sister, Miss Eugenia DeVan, and other relatives. The deceased was a devout Christian and a member of the Government Street Methodist Church. She had made many friends during her residence in this city and was greatly beloved among a large circle, many of whom will learn of her death with deep regret. The remains will be shipped to Arlington, Ala., tomorrow morning via Southern Railway for interment. - Mobile Register of 14th.
