Duke. The community was saddened last Saturday when the news reached Camden, that Mr. David H. Duke had died at Ackerville, as the result of a tragic accident while ginning cotton last Friday. In some way his clothing was caught in the gin and the poor man was horribly mangled and cut and he lived only in agony until death relieved him of his sufferings Friday night. Mr. Duke a few years since married Miss Price, in Ackerville and last year moved there. He was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Duke of Camden, and his remains were brought here for interment in the Camden Cemetery. He was worthy, God fearing and honest, and to the sorrow stricken young widow and the family our heart felt condolences are offered. May the good Lord comfort them in their grief.
