Mr. Thomas Duggan, a former resident of Camden, died last Wednesday night in Montgomery, where he has resided for several years. His body was brought here and laid to rest in the Camden cemetery. Rev. R. L. Robinson conducted the funeral services. The deceased was of an excellent family. He was born in Mobile, being the eldest son of the late Thomas Duggin, who was one of the fine business men of the Gulf City, and a member of the firm of L. Brewer & Co. After his father's death his mother, with the children, came to Camden to reside. At his death Thomas Duggin was in his 44th year. He married Miss Lucy Jenkins, who died several years ago. At one time he was editor of The Wilcox New Era, and later moved to Montgomery. He was an excellent printer and was energetic and industrious and being possessed of a genial nature had many friends. One child, a daughter, Miss Inez Duggan survives him, also two sisters, Mrs. B. M. Miller of Camden, and Mrs. J. E. Alford of Mobile, and a brother, Chas. Duggan, of Camden. His remains were accompanied to Camden by his daughter and her aunt, Mrs. J. J. Hawthorne of Thorsby.
