O. Dannelly. On Saturday last, Nov. 7th., 1908, at 6:40 P. M., Mrs. Louisa Olivia Dannelly died at the home of her son, Rev. E. A. Dannelly, at Greensboro, Ala. She was ill only a few days of pneumonia. The remains reached Camden Sunday night and interment took place Monday morning at 10 o'clock from the residence of her son Mr. G. T. Dannelly. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. P. Sanders, assisted by Rev. C. P. Atkinson, of Greensboro, who paid a brief but beautiful tribute to the life and character of the deceased. Mrs. Dannelly, nee Miss Gordon, was born at Suggsville, Clarke county, Ala., July 25th, 1835. She was married Aug. 31st, 1854 to Mr. Jas. Patrick Dannelly, who preceded her to the beyond by eighteen years. Upon her marriage she became a resident of Camden where most of her life has been spent. In all the relations of life she evidenced a refined nature, a deep piety, and strong traits of personal character. Endowed by nature with such gifts, and cultured by religious faith, mental training and varied life experiences, she deeply impressed the community throughout her long and useful life. She was a member of the Methodist church and was faithful in all circumstances both to its interests and its teachings. She was for a long period of years a worker in the Women's Missionary Society, and a faithful and efficient Sunday school teacher. Her death was very triumphant, and the testimony which she leaves is glorious, notwithstanding the modest reserve of her spirit. Mrs. Dannelly is survived by four sons, two daughters and several grandchildren. Rev. J. M. Dannelly, D. D., of Montgomery; Rev. E. A. Dannelly, Presiding Elder of the Greensboro District; Mr. G. T. Dannelly and circuit clerk P. M. Dannelly of Camden are her sons. Her daughters are Mrs. J. A. McArthur of Camden and Mrs. A. H. Goodall of Nashville, Tenn. To all the bereaved we extend sincerest sympathy. Additional Comments: Wilcox Progressive Era Newspaper Microfilm located at the Alabama Department of Archives and History, Montgomery, Alabama.
