S. Farish, Sr. Many hearts were saddened when on May 27, the Angel of Death came and bore away the spirit of Mr. E. S. Farish. Uncle Ned had lived to a ripe old age, - was born in 1825 in Green County, - and his many unselfish acts of generosity are more eloquent in his praise, and render his memory dearer to those who knew and loved him best than any eulogies we can pronounce. For a long time he had been a consistent member of the Methodist Church, performing his duties with that conscientiousness which characterized him. In all his dealings with men he was honest and upright; faithful to his friends; a devoted husband and father. Uncle Ned loved our dear Southland and suffered and fought with the "Boys in Grey." He was ever true to the Democratic party and longed for a pure government. He is sadly missed from his community and the loss of his influence is felt. M. M. M.
