The body of Mrs. Mary E. Gilbert, widow of Mr. F. P. M. Gilbert, was brought here from Birmingham for burial. The funeral took place on Sabbath morning from the residence of Mr. M. M. Pickett. The funeral service was read by Rev. F. M. Fletcher. Many of our readers will remember Mrs. Gilbert. She was a devoted wife of her devoted husband-they had no children and lived for each other. She died of Pneumonia and was an estimable lady. Mr. Gilber died in 1880. He was long time editor of the Wilcox News and Pacificator and Mrs. Gilbert worked side by side with him in the duties of his office. Her burial has awakened many memories of twenty years ago. She was buried by the side of her husband and in presence of a large concourse of friends and relatives who knew her in the years gone by.
