Once again the angel of death has swept through the home taking in its flight a loved one and leaving that home over shadowed with sorrow. Little David Dawson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Howard, age four years, died Jan. 5th, 1904, at his home in Gee's Bend. He was a sweet attractive child ever ready to mind Mama and Papa. He not only won the love of the family but every one who chance to see him loved him. He was sick only a few hours with Membranous croup but suffered intense agony while it lasted. Dear parents, he was only lent to you these four short years to brighten your home and give you a glimpse of what heaven will be in the end, it was a little bud that was not permitted to bloom until it was transplanted in the fair garden above. To his heart broken parents and grand parents, I will say grieve not for ere long the pearly gate will be open and you will find your little David awaiting you there, where there will be no more weeping and where the skies are always clear. Suffer little children to come unto me for such is the kingdom of heaven. May the blessings of the Lord rest upon the bereaved parents. Sincerely, A Friend.
