The cold Master's death visited our midst, and removed from us, Mrs. John D. Hays, nec Privett, who after a long illness realized that the dissolution might come at any moment. Every act of life and expression during her illness demonstrated that she was fully prepared to go, and trusted in Him who, "doeth all things well" and "whose ways are not our ways." She passed a way while sleeping to a wake in Heaven. In her death the Methodist Church of which she has been a consistent member for quite a number of years. The community in which she lived a large circle of friends and relatives. A husband and three precious children sustain an irreparable loss. While we fully realize her loss, as a friend, neighbor, sister, affectionate daughter, a true devoted wife, a loving mother and a Christian lady. We feel that she has been released from the toils and burdens, cares and griefs of this world, and entered upon that "Rest that remaineth unto the people of God." We offer our sympathy and condolence to the immediate family and relatives and point them to the life of their loved one, as being worthy of emulating, and a guarantee of an eternal home in Heaven, prepared for those who follow the example of Christ in this life.
