F. M. Jones. Capt. F. M. Jones, a popular and well known citizen of Monroeville, died in a hospital in Mobile last week. Capt. Jones had been to Mobile in attendance upon the Veteran's Reunion, and on his return home stopped at Perdido to look after some property interests in Baldwin county, and while walking along the railroad at Perdido was struck by a train, sustaining serious internal and external injuries. He was taken to Mobile on No. 1 passenger train and hurried to the hospital, but never regained consciousness. Capt. Jones had been tax assessor of Monroe county for more than twenty years, and was one of the best known and most popular men in that county. He was well known to many citizens of Wilcox county, who will be deeply grieved to learn of his tragic death. He was 73 years of age.
