He was born in Clarke County, Alabama, March 10, 1850. On December 16, 1875, he married Miss Eladie Hollinger, who with three sons, Messrs. Ernest F., G. Russell and John Milton, survive him. He also leaves one brother, Frank M. Ladd, and three sisters. He was identified for many years in many of Mobile's industries, being at the time of his death president of the Mobile Shingle and Manufacturing Company; Ladd Brothers, lumber and timber shippers and Lesesne & Ladd, cotton factors. The deceased was a very quiet, unassuming man, a Christian gentleman and a friend to all. His many friends will regret to learn of his death. - Mobile Register of 14th. The deceased was a brother-in-law of Mr. F. G. Hollinger of Rock West and had many friends in Wilcox County.
