Wilcox Progressive Era, Thursday, November 10, 1904

Obituary.
On Oct. 14th, God in his Providence, has removen from our midst little 
William Pinkney Martin, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Martin. He was born 
July 8th, 1903, aged 1 year, 3 months and 6 days. He was ill several 
months yet was a patient sufferer, and perfectly resigned to death. We 
extend to the broken hearted mother and father and other members of 
the family our heartfelt sympathy in their sad bereavement. We feel 
with deepest sorrow the loss sustained by its death but we bow in 
humble submission to God's will, and thank him for the assured hope, 
that the dear little son is enjoying the sweet reward, where its 
sufferings are ended. Don't weep, dear mother, he has gone to await 
for Mama and Papa who so kindly and patiently cared for the little 
sufferer all through his sickness, his little cradle is vacant, he was 
laid to rest in this place on Oct. 14th. May God bless the family, and 
enable them to meet it in Heaven some sweet day.
