Wilcox Progressive Era, Thursday, August 22, 1907 
Death of Mrs. McDowell.
We are pained to record, the death of Mrs. Julia Z. McDowell which occurred at 
her home, last Friday. The deceased was the widow of the late Sam W. McDowell, 
and was a most devoted mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was a daughter 
of the late Felix Tait, and was in her 47th year, when she died. Messrs. W. A. 
and Ed. L. and Sam McDowell, Miss Narcissa McDowell and several younger 
children survive her. The interment was in the old McDowell Cemetery, in the 
Grampian Hills, and many relatives and friends, lament this good lady's demise.
