Mr. Alexander Maxwell, formerly of Camden, died at the home of his son, Wm. Maxwell, in Mobile the past week. For a long time the decedent has lived in Brooklyn, N. Y., and was on a visit to his son in Mobile at the time of his death. At the outbreak of the civil war, being a resident of Camden, Mr. Maxwell enlisted in Gen. Wheeler's cavalry and served throughout the four years of conflict. He belonged to the Camden, Ala., Camp of United Confederate Veterans. Mr. Maxwell had many friends throughout the entire state, many of whom will learn of his death with deep regret.
