Wilcox Progressive Era, Thursday, October 29, 1908
Mr. Montgomery Dead.
  Mr. Edwin Montgomery of Starkeville, Miss., died on the 15th of Oct., at his 
home. He was well known throughout this State as a journalist, dairyman and 
stock-raiser. Many of our readers will know of him when it is stated he was 
married to Miss Bettie Pressly, who with seven children survive him. Mrs. 
Montgomery was reared in Wilcox county, and educated in Camden and has score of 
friends and relatives in this part of the State, who will sympathize with her 
in her sorrow. Mr. Montgomery was a man of marked ability and will be greatly 
missed.
