Mr. D. C. McMurphy, formerly of Fatama, but who has been residing at Mexia, Monroe county, for the past few years, passed away on the sixth inst., after an illness of several months. His remains were brought here and interred at Fatama cemetery on the eighth inst. He leaves a wife, one child, a mother, five sisters, one brother, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his departure. May the dear Lord comfort the hearts of the bereaved ones.
