Wilcox Progressive Era, Thursday, December 3, 1908
  The funeral services of Dr. J. H. Purifoy who died last week took place on 
the 23rd inst., at the family burying ground at Furman. The deceased was one of 
the oldest residents of that community, and his life was a very active and 
useful one.
