J. Rhodes Dead Sunday night the subject of this article died at Gee's Bend, from yellow fever. Mr. Rhodes, who was about twenty-eight years of age, came to our county from Eufaula a few years ago, and assumed the position of clerk in the store of Mr. W. R. Alford, of Canton Bend. His acquaintances, at once, began to develop into friends, and his worth in business, society and in friendship were apparent from the outset. He filled the above position for two or three years, and then, as now, Mr. Alford had nothing but words of commendation for him. He then accepted a position at Repton, where he remained until about a month ago, when he assumed the position in Gee's Bend he was filling at the time of his death. Everywhere he went he made friends and everywhere he worked he gave perfect satisfaction. He was a young man of character, a man to be admired. His remains were carried to Eufaula for interment.
