Wilcox Progressive Era, Thursday, July 16, 1903

We regret to announce the death of Mr. Tom Stewart who was shot 
several days ago just across the line in Monroe County. Mr. Stewart 
was a man of remarkable quiet and retiring disposition and it was a 
surprise and shock to all who knew him to hear of his violent end. 
We extend to his bereaved family our heartfelt sympathy.
