Miss Spurlin was born in Camden November 11, 1865. She was of a sunny disposition and bore with remarkable fortitude her affliction. In her years of health she devoted much of her time to the study of literature and of music, excelling as a musician, and composing several much admired works. She was the daughter of Colonel and Mrs. W. F. Spurlin. A brother, Rev. W. D. Spurlin, of Monroe, La., also mourns her loss. Mr. Spurlin arrived here from Louisiana just before his sister's death. The remains were taken to Camden yesterday on the steamer City of Mobile, and will be laid to rest Tuesday in the family cemetery. -- Mobile Register of Sunday. Miss Stelia Spurlin who had been in bad health for some time, went to the Inge-Bondurant Sanitarium for treatment and in a few days her parents were wired to come at once, but she died about the time the train got to Mobile, and her remains arrived Monday evening, and was interred here Tuesday morning. We extend to her family our sympathy as does the balance of our community. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/alfiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
