Wilcox Progressive Era, Thursday, June 2, 1904

We are sorry to announce the death of Mr. Adam Stewart of Bonham’s 
Beat, which occurred at his home last week. Mr. Stewart was one of our 
oldest and best citizens, and he died at a ripe age, being over 80 
years old, honored and respected by all who knew him. He was a true 
Confederate soldier, a good citizen, a good Democrat and a true 
husband, father and brother. Our sympathies go to his bereaved family 
and relatives. A worthy man is at his reward.
