After suffering for several months he died in Mobile on Wednesday last. He was born in Wilcox County April 28th, 1879, and died July 25th, 1906. A mother, one brother, a wife and three small children survive him. His life was plain and unassuming. He had the confidence of those who knew him. He has held positions of trust in his home county and could, if living today, and in health, get any job that he ever previously held. In plain words he was industrious, honest and gave his undivided attention to his employer's interests. None knew Bill Sills but believed him a true man. He loved nature, and was true to his friends and affectionate in his home life. While not a member of the church he had a high regard for true piety, he loved what was right and just, and had a monumental contempt for hypocrite. In life he followed the "Golden Rule." He did by others as he would have them do by him, and while not pretentiously orthodox in all of his ideas, we doubt not that the gates were opened for him, and that he made a happy entrance into the house, not made with hands eternal in the heavens.
