G. Scott Dies Suddenly at His Home in Monroe County. News was received here Monday of the death at Mt. Pleasant, Monroe county, Sunday afternoon, of Dr. Gladden G. Scott, a former resident of Wilcox. Dr. Scott was a son of the late Major Chas. L. Scott and was born and reared in Camden. He left here about twenty years ago and practiced medicine for several years in Monroe county, where he was a wealthy planter at the time of his death, having retired some years ago from practice and devoted his interests to his plantations and cotton factory business in Mobile, being senior member of the Scott-Blacksher Commission Company. He is survived by his wife and six children, three girls and three boys, two of his sons being Messrs. Joseph and Gladden G. Scott, Jr., of Mobile. He was taken ill some time ago but had recovered and left Mobile several days ago to see to the planting of his crops. He was taken suddenly ill Saturday, and his wife left Mobile Saturday night with a trained nurse, reaching him only a short time before the end. Dr. Scott was highly regarded here and in Mobile and throughout many portions of the state. He was a Royal Arch Mason and prominent in a number of other fraternal organizations. He was buried at Mt.
