Judge Walter Tate, a former resident of this county and who for many years has made his home in Pensacola is dead. He had many friends in Wilcox County who remember him with many pleasant thoughts of his former life among them, and will be deeply affected by his sudden death and the manner in which it occurred, a frightened horse that had extricated himself from a vehicle that he had shattered, ran over Judge Tate on one of the principle streets in Pensacola, and we learn that he died from the Concussion of the Brain. Judge Tate was a good man and a worthy citizen, and will be greatly missed by those with whom his business and social life has been passed in late years. He was regarded as one of the landmarks of Pensacola to which place he moved just after the war between the States.
