Wilcox Progressive Era, Thursday, February 1, 1906
Mr. James C. Yates.
  Mr. James C. Yates of Carlowville. Ala., died at his residence 
Saturday morning, Jan 27th, at the age of 56 years.
  Mr. Yates was considered one of Dallas County’s best and most 
substantial citizens. He married Miss Sallie Amanda Stafford of Oak 
Hill, Wilcox County, Ala., who survives him.
  He is also survived by his four children, Mrs. Joseph W. Jackson, 
Mrs. Molton C. Hunter, Mr. Henry J. Yates and Dr. Carlyle K. Yates.
