McConnell and Miss May Virginia Alford occurred at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon of this week at the Camden Presbyterian church, in the presence of a large number of friends and relatives. The church was tastefully and beautifully decorated, emblematic of the season and the occasion. The ceremony was most impressively performed by the pastor, Rev. C. W. McCully. The following gentlemen acted as ushers: Stanley C. Godbold, D. H. Turner, Warren Primm and W. J. Garrett. The bride was beautifully and stylishly attired in a traveling suit of navy blue chiffon taffeta, with touches of white, and hat to match. She wore elbow gloves of light grey silk, and her flowers were carnations and plumosus fern. Immediately after the ceremony they left on a trip which will be necessarily brief on account of the groom's business engagements. They will make their home in Camden. The bride is the pretty and accomplished daughter of Mr. W. R. Alford, one of our leading citizens. She is a social favorite here and in Mobile, and is beloved for her many beautiful traits of character. The groom is one of our most popular and worthy young men, of high character and ability, and has a most promising future as a business man. His many friends all over the county will read this announcement with interest.
