To my first wife’s children, J.A. Grimes, John C. Grimes, Edward C. Grimes and Elizabeth Grimes Ptomey, I have advanced the amount of fifteen hundred dollars of property to each at or about the time of their marriages. I further bequeath to J. A. Grimes, John C. Grimes and Elizabeth Ptomey the sum of five dollars each at my death. To my beloved wife I give and bequeath the use of my entire property, personal, real and mixed to support and educate her children during her widowhood, to hold and control without giving bond to the court for the same But should she remarry I wish the property after she takes her dower out to be equally divided between my six last children namely Wiley J. Grimes, Thomas J. Grimes, William H. Grimes, Mary F. Grimes, Stephen D. Grimes and Robert L. Grimes and if my wife should have any more children to me I wish these to share and share alike with my six last children. In witness I hereunto set my hand and seal this day and date first above named. Attest – R. C. Davidson Wiley Grimes E.D.
