I John Lee of the County of Wilcox and the State of Alabama being mindful of my mortality do make and declare this my last will and testament in a manner and form following First I resign my soul into the hands of Almighty God hoping and believing in a remission of my sins by the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ and my body I commit to the earth to be buried in a plain and neat manner. Second All my just debts must be paid pout of my Estate. Third I give and bequeath unto my wife Emily Lee all my Estate. Consisting of One hundred and fifty nine acres and forty two & a half hundreths of an acre to wit The south west quarter of section twenty one of Township twelve of Range eleven in the district of land subject to sale at Cahawba Alabama and one sorrel horse and all my other stock both of cattle & hogs and all other articles of any description whatsoever to have the same to her use and benefit forever to dispose of after all my just debts are paid in any way to the best of advantage as she may think best this 4th February 1842. Purifoy } Wm Edwards } James McWilliams } The State of Alabama } Personally appeared in open Court William Edwards Wilcox County } & James McWilliams two of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing will of John Lee and being duly sworn deposeth and saith that they saw John Lee the Testator sign & seal & heard him publish and declare the said Will to be his last will & testament that at the time of making & subscribing said will the said John Lee was of sound & disposing mind and memory & that they signed their names as witness to said will and they saw William M.
