Confederate Veteran Widow Pension
His widow filed for a pension in Winston County in 1937. Her name was Mattie 
Garrett Cleere. In this pension it indicates that her husband William Henry 
Cleere died in 1924. Her husband was a private in Company G of the 4th Alabama 
Cavalry. He served under Col. William A. Johnson under General Forrest. He 
served for about 6 months at the end of the war. He was captured.

He was buried in Haleyville, Winston County, Alabama
